The Harriman Reservoir is situated in southern Vermont with its northern end in Wilmington, and its southern end at the base of the Harriman Dam in Whitingham.
The trail along the west side of the reservoir follows the roadbed of the former Hoosic Tunnel & Wilmington railroad (nicknamed the Hoot, Toot & Whistle) .
From the Medburyville picnic area on the north end to the picnic area below the dam on the south end the trail is 7.2 miles long.

Or, if interested, there is a shorter walk, also starting at the southern end and finishing back at the dam, this will be more appropriate for families and will begin at 10 a.m.
There will be hot dogs and drinks waiting at the finish for the walkers.
Each entering adult will be asked to have $30 worth of sponsors (three people at $10 each or any other combination) and each child under 12 -18 will be asked to have $10 worth of sponsors, kids under 12 walk free .
Parking will be available at the southern end.
