  • Myron Mixon visits West Dover ahead of the Taste

    Invitation to Meet and Greet with Myron Mixon, Wednesday July 28th.

    World BBQ Champion and star of TLC’s BBQ Pitmasters, Myron Mixon is coming to the Deerfield Valley this Wednesday, July 28th to prepare for the upcoming Taste of the Deerfield Valley this September 10-12. Myron is headlining the event with a Friday Night VIP Dinner, Lesson and Beer Pairing and a cooking demonstration on Saturday at the Grand Summit.

    On Wednesday at 10:00am Myron will be having a press briefing and brunch with area restaurateurs and chefs at the Wilmington Inn & Tavern (formerly Red Shutter Inn). This will be followed by the Zoo Hoo’s ribbon cutting ceremony at Wahoo’s Eatery. Myron will join Governor Jim Douglas in congratulating Adam Grinold on his new franchise, Zoo Hoo’s. At 11:30am light refreshments will be served as guests may tour the franchise trailer. Comments by Adam Grinold, the Brattleboro Development Credit Corp., Vermont Governor Jim Douglas and Myron Mixon will be held at noon. Following the brief ceremony, all attendees are welcome to enjoy a complimentary soft serve.

    In the evening, Celebrate the Valley will be hosting a meet and greet with Myron Mixon at the Matterhorn Inn. All are welcome at 5:30pm. Complimentary wine and beer selected by g.housen will be served. Cheese and crackers will be on hand courtesy of courtesy of Dakin Farm of Ferrisburg, VT and Neighbourly Farms of Randolf, VT. And in honor of the BBQ King, the Matterhorn Inn will serve tastes of their own pig roast. Please RSVP to info@celebratethevalley.com or leave a message at (802) 339-4424.

    Myron Mixon is known as the ‘BBQ King’. Over his illustrious career, he has won over $680,000 in prize money and is star of TLC’s BBQ Pitmasters with their second season airing this August. He has won many BBQ competitions including 30 state championships, the Jack Daniels World Championship, Memphis in May, Kansas City BBQ Society and the Florida BBQ Association.

    Myron will be demonstrating his skills at the Taste of the Deerfield Valley in September with a Friday night VIP Dinner, Lesson and Beer Pairing at the Hermitage Inn and a Saturday morning Cooking Demonstration at the Grand Summit.
